CONTEST RULES
1. Models may be made of any material.
2. No radio controlled or self-propelled vehicles.
3. Juniors must be under age 17 on day of show.
4. Modelers who qualify as juniors may enter any category they wish however they may not enter any one model in more than one category.
5. Juniors will be eligible for Special Awards.
6. A collection is five or more closely related subjects. A collection will count as one entry.
7. Judges may not judge any category in which they are entered. Judges may not vote for Best of Show if one of their models is being considered.
8. Entrants may place their models in the category they choose, however the Head Judge retains the option to place the entry in a more suitable category. An attempt will be made to notify the entrant in this eventuality.
9. Models may be placed on a reasonably sized base or display, however bases and/or displays will not be judged except in the Diorama Category.
10. Categories are subject to being split, however no new categories will be created after registration opens.
11. Out Of The Box (OOB) entries must include the instructions that came with the kit. The kit must be commercially available. Seams may be filled, panel lines may be rescribed, paper seatbelts and rigging may be added and alternate decals may be used.
12. IPMS/Flight 19 reserves the right to remove, or not allow to be entered, any entry that may be perceived as being obscene or inappropriate. The Contest Chairman will be the ultimate authority in this matter and is not required to provide a justification.
13. Judging will be conducted in a constructive and positive manner by experienced judges under general IPMS guidelines.
14. The model room will not be closed during judging and entrants may not speak to or attempt to influence the judges during the judging

IT IS REQUESTED THAT ALL MODELS REMAIN ON THE DISPLAY TABLES UNTIL THE CONCLUSION OF THE AWARDS PRESENTATION.

Directions

The El Palacio Hotel is conveniently located one block from I-95 at Commercial Boulevard. A special rate of $69.00 per night has been reserved for guests attending GoldCoast Scale-Con '06. Call the El Palacio at 954-776-4880 for a reservation and mention you will be attending the model show. Kids stay free. Located on premises is the Legends Sports Bar and Grill serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. The El Palacio's street address is 4900 Powerline Road, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33309.

The El Palacio is easily accessable from both I-95 and Florida's Turnpike:
--From the east coast take I-95 South to Commercial Boulevard exit 32. When you exit turn right (west). Go over the railroad tracks and turn left (south) on Powerline Road. Take the first left into the El Palacio.
--From central Florida take the Turnpike south to Commercial Boulevard. When you exit turn left and head east. Go 3.5 miles to Powerline Road. Turn right (south) on Powerline and take the first left into the ElPalacio.
--From the west coast take I-75 South to I-595. Take I-595 East to I-95 North. Take I-95 North to Commercial Boulevard Exit 32. When you exit turn left and go west. Go over the railroad tracks and turn left on Powerline Road. Take the first left into the EL Palacio.
